I'm a story-telling songwriter. My work creates new mythologies inspired by old and new stories, using a fusion of styles. I want to bring facets of all sorts of cultures into my songs.
I was brought up in Belfast by an Irish Catholic, Russian Jewish mother and an English orchestral musician father, and I've lived in Oxfordshire, Manchester and now am in the East End of London.
I love mythology, folk music and folklore probably as a result of my roots and upbringing. My music is influenced as much by writers such as Angela Carter, Haruki Murakami and Gabriel Garcia Marquez as by any of the music I listen to.
This summer you can follow my travels across Europe, as I collect stories to turn into music that will form the basis of my new show.
